Art up is an art application that has been made for those who are interested in arts, knowing about famous artists, masterpiece stories from the very beginning and their critique reviews, and some of the secrets about them that you can not find easily. Plus, you can have your own profile to share your artwork. You can also be aware of different competitions and galleries that will be held.
Designing Art up logo was challenging as I had to make a logo as much minimal as it could be and also be responsive to be used in different sizes and styles. So, I started to combine letters “A” and “U” as they are the first letters of the app’s name and tried to make a special monogram. After a few tries, I found out the best way is using “U” as a base and putting “A” in a negative space. At the top you can see a triangle as an arrow that shows the growth you can achieve by using the application for your art knowledge.
Here is some of the ideas that I had for designing the logo. As shown above, I tried to use an element of art in the logo and tried to find the best way to combine the letters and make a monogram.
For different artists and their profiles in the application, I used the logo as a mask and combined it with artist’s masterpieces. Using this form, it represents the
power of the logo and it’s flexibility for changing. It gives the art up group the opportunity to use the logo in advertisements such as posters or videos.
I think applications like Art up are very useful and could be very helpful for training better artists and increase the knowledge of people about art and the process of creating a masterpiece. I was lucky to be chosen to design this logo and work with a wonderful team.
